A Profound View of Suicide

I read this on a blog post over at Single Dad Laughing and it struck me as SO profound. I hope it reverberates through your soul as it is mine.

"I believe the suicidal urge is a war-cry reverberating from the deepest recesses of one's soul. As it percolates up past the layers, through the adopted filters, and into the exhausted mind of the receiver, the message gets jumbled.
In a world where the emotions are dishonored and simply categorized as either "good" or "bad", the suicidal urge is the most misunderstood of all. Every emotion is vital. Each has a message to relay. They are the pristine communication between our spirits and our bodies. A visceral way to let us know when things are well or when boundaries have been violated. The very foundation of our instincts. And we all-too-often stuff them down or ignore them completely, especially the "bad" ones.
With all my heart I trust that the suicidal urge has an important message to deliver.
A terrifyingly beautiful message: something MUST die....not someONE....someTHING.....a belief or a practice that is so contrary to the beauty and truth of who you are that to keep it would destroy you.
THAT is what must be killed.
Not you.
Not EVER you."

My Review of American Cream Conditioner

Originally submitted at LUSH USA

Mark Constantine created this conditioner based on inspiration from 1950's American milk bars where girls in poodle skirts and knee socks went to meet their boyfriends and drink frothy milkshakes. We begin with honey water for softening locks, then add delicious fresh strawberries full of vitam...

Pros: Improves Texture, Great Smell, Detangles, Smooths & Softens, Adds Shine, Improves Hair Health, Gentle

Best Uses: Daily Use, Thick Hair, Dull hair

Hair Type: Wavy Hair

Describe Yourself: Minimalist

The first time I used this I couldn't stop smelling my hair! I don't notice it as much now, but my hair still smells good and feels great. I have really thick, thirsty hair so this product doesn't last as long for me. After using it my hair feels soft, is manageable, shiny, and fragrant.

My Review of Jumping Juniper

Originally submitted at LUSH USA

Lavender and rosemary are two herbs you really want if you're having trouble in the oil production department. This shampoo bar jumps into action to sort out any oil problems. It's the only shampoo we know of that smells like a gin and tonic; it's made with the essential oils of juniper...

Best Uses: Daily Use, Thicker Hair, Oily Hair

When I first heard of solid shampoo I was a bit skeptical, but also curious. After trying one of LUSH's bath bombs I went to a store and bought several more items to try. This was one of them. I was surprised at how well it lathers and lasts. I was afraid it might fall apart when I got it wet, but it holds together very well. I was told a little bit goes a long way and boy were they right! I can lather a little bit onto my hands and then run it through my hair and it lathers a ton more. I LOVE the smell and my hair feels SO lightweight and healthy now! This product is now a staple in my shower routine!

My Review of Apple Slice

Originally submitted at Diamond Candles

About this scentA fresh green apple. We took a blender, several apples, a ring, and a candle wick and voila! Apple Slice Diamond Candle. Well not quite exactly but that's what it smells like.

Pros: Pleasant Scent, Long Lasting, Attractive Design
Best Uses: Lighting, Scent, Gifts, Decoration, Ambiance
Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper
I love that this candle does not have an overpowering scent, and yet it still can fill a room. Even unlit and uncovered I can still smell the mild apple scent when I walk by. The soy candle burns longer and cleaner, which means less smoke and more scent! I LOVE this candle! (And I was very pleased with the ring inside too!)
